As much as I love my skinnies, I slide into a pair of wide leg jeans any chance I get—denim trousers with an extra wide leg being my all-time favorite. There's just something about the way the super wide flare drapes over my double platform wedges, providing the illusion that I am stylishly floating or levitating rather than merely walking or standing.
A born and raised Midwesterner, I am all too familiar with cold-weather armor. When I was younger I dreaded the winter season because it meant pulling out warm but itchy, unflattering and uncomfortable corduroy pants. Those bad memories are being erased and replaced with new ones as I now have cuter corduroy options, and pairing the newly sleek and skinny pant with a sophisticated button-up blouse looks both effortless and elegant.
Of the four watches in my possession three were gifted, and the one I purchased is a little over five years old. I can appreciate a fine watch and have even lusted after a few (like this and this), but timepieces aren't usually on my radar. When they are, they're inspired by a man's watch—there's just something about the oversized band hanging on a dainty wrist—and they mimic the bangles and bracelets I generally accessorize with.
There are days--like today--when comfort overrules all else. My closet looks like a tornado just ran through it because no matter what I tried on this morning, it just didn't feel or look right. I didn't feel like jeggings, or wide leg linen pants or even a maxi dress. The only thing that felt right when I slid it on was an off shoulder sweatshirt dress. Lightweight and extremely soft I feel both comfortable and chic.
When dressing for a day in the pool or at the beach, in addition to deciding which cute little swimsuit I’m going to wear is deciding: What am I going to cover up with? And yes, I usually end up opting for a printed caftan or—my favorite—an oversized boyfriend sweater which, don’t get me wrong, is tres comfy and cute (especially when cinched at the waist with a thin belt). But just because I’m surrounded by sand, water and cool breezes is no reason I have to drown out dressier options. Classic, cool sophistication is added to swimwear with a simple crisp white hip-gracing blazer (oversized and long ones work well too--and provide more coverage if needed).
Simple yet stylish- you have to love the contrasting bow on the white bikini; and the scalloped edges add fun detail-Chloe's swimwear is the perfect addition to your vacation wardrobe.
