Some weekends, with all the chores and errands that need to be completed, I feel as though I should dress—or would that be armored—for the occasion. Cargo skinny jeans with plenty of stretch for comfort, a slashed tee with lightly padded shoulders, cross-body bag with metal trimming and canvas booties get the job done.

Probably the most relaxed and comfortable errand-running ensemble, a ribbed racerback tank and low slung cargos can easily play dress up (while remaining simple and easy) with a platform in basic black, cropped jacket in soft leather and a few sleek accessories like twisted hoop earrings and a multi link bracelet. I probably didn't need another jumper, especially if you consider that I already have at least a half dozen or so (three of which are black) but, I chalk it up to details. Jumpsuits with barely there pinstripes; a strapless bodice; and ruched shoulders have now been joined by the spaghetti straps and visible zipper of my current acquisition. I love jumpers for their simplicity. No need to wonder about what to pair with what--one chic piece covers top and bottom, with options to layer everything from thin knits to a blazer over top.

I love these linen pants! They are wide-legged, high waisted and extremely comfortable. A light and cool ensemble for the unseasonably warm weather we've been experiencing latey.

Happy New Year! It seems like I've been gone forever, but I'm happy to be back and am extremely excited about all the new things this year will bring. I thought this dress fitting as my first post of the year, starting off with something old and new. Intending to wear it on my birthday, I bought it around this time last year. It seems old because I've had it so long, yet new because I've never worn it before. Black is always a staple for me but I love this dress because it fits well in all the right places without being uncomfortable and, sans leggings and OTK boots, my legs are given length due to the shortness of the dress—a true mini it is. Plus, the subtly padded shoulders with tone on tone sequins give it just enough edge while remaining simple and chic.

Yes, just days after Halloween I'm able, if not forced, to pull out a middle-of-summer staple—a maxi dress. It feels completely wrong, like I'm misbehaving behind Fall's unattenative back, but donning my autumn favorites (fur vest, shearling trimmed boots, chunky sweaters...) would be like being fully dressed in a sauna. So for now I'll luxuriate.

It's coming, I can feel it. If I continue incorporating autumnal aesthetics into my ensembles—fur vest here, suede boots there—perhaps Mother Nature will get the hint and let Fall finally settle into its season. I'm truly hoping this is the case as I plan to rock this vest with several other looks—soon. It's lightweight, super soft and the armholes are big enough that it won't be uncomfortable layered over thicker pieces of clothing.

Upcoming Halloween festivities aside, October is national Breast Cancer Awareness month, which you've probably already sumised as there's barely a packaged product available without the pink ribbon emblazoned on it. There are also specially designed products for purchase to aid breast cancer research like Donna Karan's Key To The Cure Tee, BCBGMaxAzria's Susan G. Komen Dream Scarf, or Deborah Lippmann's Shape of My Heart nail color to name a few.
Two of my favorite pink products for the cause are TZEN's diamond cut pink crystal bracelet and necklace. The three attached ball charms are representative: The smooth satin ball represents life before, the twined ball represents life during treatment and the pink crystal ball represents life after cancer..."Life is changed with hope and sparkles".

This skinny leopard belt came in a 2-pack (the other was black) for just under $4 at Forever 21. It's a perfect and subtle way to add the popular print to any ensemble without going overboard. I've always loved pairing leopard with a bold pop of red so I couldn't resist pulling out these suede platforms.
