THE HOUSE OF REMEMBRANCE
A Ceremonial Journey of Embodied Remembrance
Where Ritual Becomes Lived Experience, and the Body Remembers Itself as Home
International Elemental Soma Month (IESM) is a complimentary seasonal observance devoted to embodiment, coherence, and remembrance.
Held each August, IESM invites a slowing — a return to relationship with the elemental intelligence of the body through ritual, reflection, sensory awareness, and presence.
Rather than asking what must be achieved, improved, or transformed, this observance asks a quieter question:
What becomes possible when the body is met with attention?
Throughout the month, participants are invited to engage simple rituals of touch, breath, water, stillness, and embodiment through the House of Remembrance — the ceremonial theme for the inaugural observance.
The month holds four weekly rituals, and is anchored by three ceremonies:
-
• The Threshold Ritual —
Opening Ceremony for International Elemental Soma Month
• Skin Ritual | FieldBody —
Week 1: A Ritual of Contact, Boundary, and Presence
• The Aether Pause —
A Ritual of Coherence (International Elemental Soma Day | 8.8)
• Water Ritual | WaterBody —
Week 2: A Ritual of Receiving and Internal Nourishment
• Scent Ritual | BreathBody —
Week 3: A Ritual of Breath, Circulation, and Subtle Movement
• Body Ritual | EarthBody —
Week 4: A Ritual of Grounding and Embodiment
• The Remembrance Ritual —

The Elemental Soma is the body experienced as a living field of elemental intelligence.
It does not seek to optimize the human experience or rise above it.
Instead, it restores relationship — between sensation and awareness, regulation and presence, inner life and the living world.
Within the Elemental Soma, wisdom is not extracted or achieved.
It is sensed, integrated, and lived.
The body already carries the capacity to regulate, respond, and remember when given the conditions to do so.

August carries the feeling of fullness.
In the Northern Hemisphere, it is a season of ripeness — light lingering, growth visible, life standing near its peak before the gradual turning inward. In the Southern Hemisphere, it mirrors preparation and attunement, a gathering before transition.
Across cultures and time, August has long been associated with maturation, harvest, rhythm, and integration.
International Elemental Soma Month honors this seasonal intelligence — not by asking what is being produced, but by asking what is being inhabited.

This observance exists because many carry the quiet knowing that something essential has been forgotten.
Modern approaches to well-being often ask the body to perform, override, optimize, or improve itself. International Elemental Soma Month offers another orientation — one rooted in presence, coherence, regulation, and relationship.
This month creates space to:
• Return to the body as ally
• Listen beneath urgency and excess stimulation
• Explore embodiment without pressure or spectacle
• Remember that meaning lives in rhythm, sensation, and careIt is a remembering, not a reinvention.
-
There is no single way to observe International Elemental Soma Month.
It may be honored through:
• Personal reflection or quiet ritual
• Embodied practices that support regulation and awareness
• Journaling, movement, breath, sound, or rest
• Gathering with others in shared presence
• Simply choosing to slow and listen more deeplyParticipation is invitational.
Depth matters more than duration.
Integrity matters more than intensity. -

International Elemental Soma Month is not fixed or formulaic.
Each year may unfold differently — shaped by seasonal themes, collective needs, and the natural rhythm of the practice.
What remains constant is the devotion to embodiment as a lived, relational inheritance.
